wayss is the largest provider of family violence, homelessness, and housing services in South East Melbourne. We exist to help people live free from family violence and access safe, sustainable, and affordable housing.

We deliver funded programs across the Southern Melbourne region, including Greater Dandenong, Casey, and Cardinia.

 

About the Role

Tenancy Plus began as the Social Housing Advocacy and Support Program (SHASP), established by the Victorian Government in 2006 as an early intervention and tenancy sustainment initiative within the social housing system.

This role provides time-limited case management and advocacy to support new and at-risk renters to sustain their tenancies, prevent eviction, and reduce homelessness within the public housing system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outreach-based case management to support tenancy sustainment.
  • Develop and implement client-centred support plans.
  • Conduct risk assessments and safety planning using the MARAM framework.
  • Empower clients through strengths-based practice.
  • Collaborate with housing providers and community partners.
  • Facilitate referrals to specialist services, including mental health and AOD supports.
  • Advocate for clients and promote their rights, dignity and wellbeing.
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings and partnership networks.
  • Maintain accurate case notes, data entry and reporting requirements.

 

About You

You’re a passionate, client-focused professional who thrives in a dynamic and inclusive environment. You bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Community Services, or a related field (Diploma level or above).
  • Experience in the community services sector, with knowledge of social housing and homelessness.
  • Strong understanding of case management practices and contemporary frameworks.
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and client engagement skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
  • Knowledge of tenancy legislation and advocacy processes.

Essential Requirements:

  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Valid Employment Working with Children Check
  • Successful completion of pre-employment screening, including police and identity checks
