wayss is a community-based, not-for-profit organisation working alongside individuals, children and families across south‑east Melbourne and Gippsland to address homelessness, family violence and inequality.
We are seeking a Communications and Advocacy Coordinator to strengthen wayss’ public voice, influence and impact. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this role plays a pivotal part in shaping how we communicate our work, support advocacy, and contribute to system reform.
This is a hands‑on role that brings together storytelling, strategy and purpose. You will lead internal and external communications, manage social media and digital content, and support the development of policy briefs, position statements and submissions that reflect the lived experience and evidence emerging from our work.

About you
You bring strong writing skills, sound judgement and a commitment to social justice. You are comfortable moving between practical communications work and policy or advocacy content, and you enjoy working collaboratively across an organisation. Experience in the community sector, advocacy or public policy contexts will be highly regarded.
A current Driver’s Licence, Working with Children Check, and successful completion of pre‑employment screening are required.
