Case Worker, Accommodation Options for Families

wayss is seeking a Case Manager – Accommodation Options for Families (AOF) to support families experiencing or at risk of homelessness to access emergency accommodation and transition towards safe, stable housing.

This role works closely with families during times of significant stress and uncertainty, providing practical support, advocacy, and coordinated casework within a trauma‑informed and strengths‑based framework.

 

About the Role

As a Case Worker in the AOF program, you will:

  • Deliver intensive casework and support to families experiencing housing instability or homelessness
  • Coordinate access to emergency and temporary accommodation
  • Complete risk assessments, safety planning, and needs assessments
  • Develop and implement individualised case plans in partnership with families
  • Advocate with housing providers and service systems to improve outcomes
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation and data entry

 

What You’ll Bring

You will bring:

  • Experience working with families and children in homelessness, housing, or community services
  • A strong understanding of family‑centred and trauma‑informed practice
  • Knowledge of homelessness pathways, housing options, and related service systems
  • Excellent engagement, communication, and advocacy skills
  • The ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in social work, community services, or a related discipline

Experience supporting families in crisis or within accommodation programs is highly valued.

This role requires a current Driver’s Licence and valid ‘Employment’ category - Working with Children Check Card. The candidate will need to have successfully completed wayss pre-employment screening, including a police check.
