About the Role

As an Initial Assessment and Planning Worker in our Access Point team, you’ll be the first point of contact for individuals and families in housing crisis. You’ll provide assessment, support, and referrals to help clients access safe, secure, and affordable accommodation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting housing and support needs assessments
  • Facilitating referrals to housing, health, and support services
  • Undertaking risk assessments and safety planning
  • Managing access to Housing Establishment Funds (HEF)
  • Advocating for clients with services and landlords
  • Empowering clients through strengths-based, inclusive practice

 

About You

You’ll bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Community Services or a related field
  • Experience working with diverse clients with complex needs
  • Strong crisis response and assessment skills
  • Understanding of homelessness and housing systems
  • Excellent communication and advocacy skills
  • Proficiency in SHIP or similar systems, and Microsoft Office
  • A current Driver’s Licence and Working with Children Check
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment screening including police and identity checks
